A hot political week begins. The National Council for Tripartite Cooperation will meet today on the second version of Budget 2026, Nova TV reports. On the agenda are the new estimates for the state treasury, as well as the financial frameworks of the National Health Insurance Fund and the State Social Security.
Last night, the supervisory boards of the Insurance Institute and the Health Insurance Fund approved the government's accounts.
The new estimates provide for no increase in taxes and social security contributions. Plans to impose a higher excise tax on cigarettes, as well as an increase in gambling taxes, are maintained. The minimum wage will be 620 euros, the minimum social security income will be the same, and the maximum will be 2,300 euros.
On Tuesday, the new draft budget is to be considered by the deputies in the relevant committee, and the government's request is for the texts to be submitted for discussion at first reading in the plenary hall by the end of the week. The expectations are that the first budget in euros will be a fact by the end of this year.
