Rosen Zhelyazkov's government survived. This happened during the sixth vote of no confidence. Only 106 MPs supported the vote of no confidence.
The MPs voted a vote of no confidence against Rosen Zhelyazkov's cabinet. Shortly before that, the Prime Minister submitted his resignation to the government.
The vote of no confidence was submitted by the PP-DB after the large protest against the government on December 1 in Sofia. The vote is on the topic of the failure of the government's economic policy, supported by the signatures of the APS and MECH.
The submitters motivated the vote with the thesis that „the economy in the country with a capital „D“ is ineffective, corrupt, under constant administrative harassment, subordinate to behind-the-scenes interests“.
During the protests on Wednesday, the PP-DB repeatedly called on the "There is such a people" group to leave power and vote for the government's resignation.
So far, the "Zhelyazkov" cabinet has survived five votes of no confidence. The last one was in mid-September, when the government received support from 133 deputies from GERB-SDF, DPS-New Beginning, BSP and ITN.
The previous votes of no confidence in the government, all unsuccessful, were due to failures in environmental policy, failures in foreign policy, the fight against corruption and fiscal policy.
