Mehmed Dikme: Borisov is sending a signal that he is breaking away from Peevski and is ready for a new majority - 1

The protesters were not for either one or the other, but for the future of Bulgaria. However, this was the easy part of the dilemma, but now that they have overthrown the government, where to? They should not hide, but come forward and take the initiative. A very big clash between Peevski and Borisov is yet to come.

This was said by the former MP from the MRF and Minister of Agriculture and Forestry (2001-2005) Mehmed Dikme in the studio of "In Focus" on NOVA. He expressed the opinion that the anti-government protests have emitted enormous positive energy. "The young people showed that they are the future of Bulgaria and I think they will soon take power into their own hands. The worn-out politicians will remain in the past. The protest was mainly directed at the ruling party, but when Gen. Atanasov took to the podium, there was a powerful booing, and posters against Radev were also waved. The protesters showed that they want a very deep change. In total, over 500,000 people in the country took to the squares. Thousands in the squares were of Turkish ethnicity, they are disappointed with the governance of the Peevski-Borisov symbiosis. They must govern with clear and specific goals", said Dikme.

According to him, Peevski has an essential and significant role in the MRF. "No one other than Delyan Peevski could have dethroned Ahmed Dogan. Beyond that, however, the parliament is not a country pub, people there should behave appropriately, I voted for "DPS-New Beginning" and I demand responsible behavior from it. It was high time that Dogan and the oligarchs around him were dethroned, I voted for Peevski. DPS has a significant role in the state, its voters are about 20% of the population. However, Peevski filled the squares - his counter-protests were a supercatalyst," commented Dikme.

According to the former MP, Borisov has repeated his move, as in the coalition with the Reformist Bloc - to resign the government without a common decision of the partners. "The words of the GERB leader that he will not deal with the budget are a blow to Peevski, because it contains a lot of funds for investments in municipalities governed by DPS. Many of the mayors have signed preliminary contracts for orders, which are already being worked on. This will affect their image and also the local budgets. DPS is a party of the people of the local government, not of Peevski or Dogan. Trust in Delyan is being shaken, it will affect the electoral support for him. Now Dogan has a chance to return. Borisov is sending a signal that he is breaking away from Peevski and is ready for a new majority "We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria". If GERB and DPS want to exist, both of them must resign", Dikme noted. He added that "DPS-New Beginning" will enter a new parliament with 30 mandates, but the potential before the protests was 50.

The former minister believes that the situation provides very good conditions for the president's political project and the situation is "now or never". And the more they try to hinder him, the stronger he will be.
