Donations for the charity initiative "Bulgarian Christmas" have reached over 3,720,000 leva since the beginning of its twenty-third edition. The amount was reported after the end of the traditional charity performance, which took place at the National Theater "Ivan Vazov", the press secretariat of the head of state announced.
The campaign, which this year is dedicated to chronically and seriously ill children, is being held under the patronage of Rumen Radev. Since its launch on December 1, when it was announced by the head of state at the University Hospital "Alexandrovska", nearly 250,000 donation SMS messages have been sent to the number 1117.
The Christmas charity performance was attended by President Rumen Radev and his wife Desislava Radeva, representatives of state institutions, diplomats, donors, ambassadors of the campaign, as well as children supported over the years by the "Bulgarian Christmas". From the stage, messages in support of the cause were delivered by popular Bulgarian musicians, singers, actors, dancers, athletes and journalists. The concert was realized by the Dream Team Group team and broadcast live on Nova TV, BNT and the Bulgarian National Radio.
For 23 years, the "Bulgarian Christmas" initiative has been strengthening donation traditions in the country and enjoys broad public support. Thanks to donors and partners, over 550 children are supported each year, as well as high-tech medical equipment is provided for medical institutions throughout the country.
The current edition of the campaign will last until the end of November 2026. Applications for supporting children are accepted year-round, and for providing medical equipment for medical institutions - until January 31, 2026.
