Since the beginning of the month, when the contracts for cleaning the garbage in the "Slatina", "Poduyane" and "Izgrev" districts expired, thanks to the organization created by our district administration and the financial support of the Sofia Municipality, from "Iztok", "Izgrev" and "Dianabad" were collected and transported:
- 1023 tons of household waste
- 32 tons of bulky waste (sofas, mattresses, toilet bowls, cabinets, stoves, etc.)
- 56 tons of recyclable waste (colored containers)
- 14 tons of illegally dumped construction waste from renovation activities
! And all this, in just one month from our small area!

Considering the huge amounts of waste and the fact that only in “Izgrev” of all the regions affected by the crisis do we work with our own equipment, teams and people, without involving citizens in the process, this is a colossal achievement that we can be proud of.
Yes, we have daily difficulties, some problems and delays, but we do not have a crisis with garbage collection and garbage collection, in the true sense of the word.
To all those who claim and insist on the opposite, I will say - it would have been a real crisis if our administration had not coped with this complicated situation on its own and we currently had another 1125 tons of garbage lying on the streets! Let us correctly and honestly assess the situation and the efforts of the people who are truly fighting the problems.
