Elenko Bozhkov: The contract with "Botas" is useful and is political chewing gum for Radev's name - 1

Former Deputy Minister of Energy Elenko Bozhkov stated in the program “Na fokus“ that the contract with the Turkish company “Botas“ is strategically useful for Bulgaria and that the criticism against it is entirely political. According to him, it is the gas deal that will be the main line of attack against the future political project of President Rumen Radev.

Bozhkov emphasized that the president is clearly pro-European, pointing to specific actions by the service cabinets appointed by Radev, including the diversification of nuclear fuel. “There is nothing pro-Russian in these decisions. The president is pro-European and this is evident from all his actions,“ he said.

Regarding the contract with “Botas“ Bozhkov rejected the claims that Bulgaria is paying hundreds of millions without using the capacity. He explained that during periods of breakdowns and interruptions, it was this contract that provided real supplies. “All this shows that this contract matters.

According to him, the decision of the government in resignation to sign an international document related to Donald Trump's initiative is an attempt “to buy indulgence“. Bozhkov stressed that Radev reacted “in the most dignified way“, by refusing to act hastily. “In this way, he disarmed all those who try to buy indulgences through such moves“, said the guest in the studio.

The conversation also touched on the topic of Rumen Radev's future political alliances. Bozhkov did not rule out the possibility that the president would seek broad support, including from circles that have so far been part of the government. He admitted that Radev will not govern alone, but emphasized that “everyone has learned their lessons“ and that future coalitions will depend on the results and political maturity of the parties.

According to Elenko Bozhkov, Rumen Radev's participation in active politics is already rearranging the political scene, and the real answers about the alliances and his project are yet to be given by the president himself.
