Tsvetan Tsvetanov: Ministry of Interior knows who the vote buyers are - 1

The Minister of Interior has a huge responsibility and must make personnel changes in all Regional Directorates of the Ministry of Interior. When the regional directors are changed, I am convinced that this fear in society and dependence, especially in small settlements, will decrease. This was said in an interview with the Bulgarian National Radio by the former right-hand man of Boyko Borisov in GERB and former deputy chairman of the party, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, founder and current leader of the party "Republicans for Bulgaria" .

According to him, the parties in the National Assembly must be responsible for their members in the Electoral Commission - for quality and prepared members.

Tsvetanov stated that the Ministry of Interior knows who the vote buyers are:

"I believe that the Minister of Interior, if he has the will to counteract the phenomenon, the results will be good. The Ministry of Interior has a leading role and these buyers are known, and if the Ministry of Interior receives and processes the specified information, there will be a prominent result and there will be a higher electoral process, and less violation in and around polling stations on election day. There is no way the Ministry of Interior is not aware of these dealers in buying votes and who are the mayors who influence voters to take away the business."

Tsvetanov predicted that if the parties provide information and there is a state, and it reacts adequately, "we saw what Boyko Rashkov tried to do - he made warning protocols and there was less abuse".

"Demerdzhiev also took similar steps. For me, it is important that the minister has knowledge and assigns the right management decisions to guarantee this process", commented Tsvetan Tsvetanov, former Minister of Interior.

He pointed out that the Minister of Interior should not have the profile of the current – Daniel Mitov, "we saw Pazardzhik".

Tsvetanov shared that Rumen Radev has not discussed with "Republicans for Bulgaria" the use of a registered party for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

"Everything depends on the way he will structure his campaign and what the main messages communicated to the public will be. It is clear to everyone that there is a certain momentum for the so-called wave. The point is that when we enter the schedule of the 60-day chronogram, signature collection and registration begin and from there there will be many occasions for positive messages. But I also expect a lot of criticism, which the candidates will be subjected to, and attacks," commented Tsvetanov.

For his party, participation in the elections itself should not be interpreted as an obligation.

"Currently, society does not need the votes of the democratic community to be scattered. If the fan does not open, I think it is better not to participate," he said.

And he admitted that informal talks were held with the so-called Democratic Forum for pressure and "I think that the necessary platform could have been created as the form of the UDF, but for now more ideas are being shared for the presidential elections, the parliamentary ones are further behind".
