Metodi Andreev to FACT: It was more assumed that Radev would come out with a parity in the next elections (VIDEO) - 1

Let me recall a statement by Rumen Radev, when he was president, when asked whether he would form a party and present his own political project. He said: “When you least expect it.“ The truth is that most analysts assumed that Radev would come out with his own project rather in the next elections, when another political crisis was expected again. Then Radev should say: “It can't happen anymore“. This was announced to Lili Marinkova in the “FACT“ studio and the “Conversation“ show by the public figure Metodi Andreev, a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts and a former MP.

“Why didn't this happen? I have my own explanation for two reasons. First - the unprecedented protests that supported the PP-DB coalition. Not that PP-DB would take the votes of all the protesters, but the protesters themselves responded to the calls and went to protests all over the country. Not everyone who went to protest is a fan of PP-DB, but the bulk of this energy was expected to go there,“ the guest added.

“Most likely, the people who analyze the situation have assessed that this is too risky for certain political circles in Bulgaria and the time is now. Historically, we have a similar example - when the Tsar came, after the UDF had already taken steps towards deep reforms in Bulgaria: a market economy, orientation towards the EU and NATO. Then the Tsar came and stopped the democratization of Bulgaria“, Andreev also said.

“This may be one of the concerns that after these protests the PP–DB will be able to raise their vote. But the second reason is more important. Currently, the European Union is in an unprecedented situation – disintegration, division, however you want to call it. Europe is not in a good state. People around Radev, like Ivo Hristov, say that Europe is weak and that it will be divided between the USA and Russia. My concern is that a very important moment is coming when Bulgaria, as a country, next year may not be led by people who are convinced that we should be in Europe. If this happens, we can expect adversity for our country, including a deviation from the pro-European and pro-Atlantic course that Bulgaria has been following for many years after the changes“, the guest also shared.

“Now is the peak moment. And that's why people, when they vote in these elections, no matter who they are, should think strategically – by voting for this party, if this leader comes out, do I guarantee that my children will live in the best place to live in the European Union? Won't the one I'm voting for, at some point, on behalf of another great power, divert Bulgaria from its previous path?“, asks Metodi Andreev.
