A Briton was detained for hooliganism at “Vasil Levski“ Airport. The man was held criminally liable for committing indecent acts at Sofia Airport on 05.02.2026 from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM, violating public order and expressing clear disrespect for society, nova.bg specified.

He insulted the police officers, pushed them and failed to comply with an order to stop and calm down. Instead, the accused started walking between the planes towards the platform. He was detained in a room at Terminal-2, where he continued to behave inappropriately, slamming the door, shouting and insulting the police officers. The British man kicked and made a hole in the detention room, causing property damage.

Pre-trial proceedings are underway in the case for crimes punishable by "deprivation of liberty". The man was detained for up to 72 hours.

A prosecutor on duty has filed a request with the Sofia District Court to impose a "detention in custody" measure on the accused. The court panel has imposed the most severe measure of detention on the perpetrator. It is subject to appeal before the Sofia City Court.
