All roads in the republican road network have been processed and are passable in winter conditions. Light snow continues to fall in 13 districts. Work on cleaning and maintaining the routes continues. There are 405 machines on the ground, the Road Infrastructure Agency announced.
To increase safety and if necessary, it is possible to close individual sections for processing the sections. Where necessary due to strong winds, snow drifts or poor visibility, traffic may be temporarily limited until the weather conditions improve and the road is cleaned.
RIA appeals to drivers to drive in vehicles prepared for winter conditions, to drive at a speed appropriate to winter conditions, not to undertake risky maneuvers, as well as overtaking snow removal equipment. The blocking of traffic by vehicles that are not prepared for winter conditions makes it difficult for all other drivers to travel and for snow removal equipment to work.
Water bodies in the country have been placed under surveillance after rivers and dams in many regions have increased their levels due to heavy snowfall and rain.
Work is underway to drain parts of the "Iztok" neighborhood in Dimitrovgrad, where the rising waters of the Merichlerska River have damaged 20 houses.
The partial state of emergency declared in the village of Obruchishte, Galabovo municipality, remains in effect, due to 4 flooded houses and two bridges.
A partial state of emergency is also in effect in the municipality of Ardino, where the pavement of a bridge in the area of the village of Kitnitsa has been destroyed.
By order of the Minister of Social Affairs, Hasan Ademov, the teams of the Social Assistance Agency will visit the victims in the Haskovo region and contact elderly and vulnerable people from the municipality of Ardino, where there are isolated villages.
