The co-chairman of "Democratic Bulgaria" Atanas Atanasov stated that at the moment there is no direct danger to our country as a result of the conflict in the Middle East. On the air of "Your Day" on NOVA NEWS, he commented on the work of the caretaker cabinet, relations between political forces and the priorities of the PP-DB coalition for the next parliament.
Regarding the situation in the Middle East, Atanasov stated: "I believe that at the moment there is no direct danger to the Republic of Bulgaria". He gave a good assessment of the organization of the evacuation of Bulgarian citizens, emphasizing the interaction between the ministries of foreign affairs, transport and tourism.
On the issue of convening the National Security Advisory Council, he explained that this is a political body, while the Security Council to the Council of Ministers is the expert advisory body. “I hope that the presidency and the president himself will react adequately to changes in the situation”, he added.
Asked about possible internal tensions in the PP-DB coalition regarding the names on the lists, Atanasov quoted Bismarck: “When sausages are made and lists are lined up, it is best that no one sees what is happening there”.
Atanas Atanasov described Rumen Radev as a competitor rather than a future coalition partner. “At the moment, I don't see any common ground with what he is saying. We have a drastic divergence in the foreign policy that Mr. Radev and his political force would lead”, he was categorical.
