A municipal councilor from Razlog and a member of a section election commission were arrested for buying votes. This was announced on his Facebook profile by the acting Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Interior Georgi Kandev.
They were detained during a police operation against election crimes in the village of Banya. A third person was also arrested. During the operation, over 11,000 euros were found hidden in a taxi car used to transport the money to the final recipients.
Three witnesses were questioned before a judge who confirmed that they had received 50 euros each to vote for a specific political force. There are police actions at many addresses in Razlog and in the village of Banya.
