How is the Supreme Judicial Council putting on a show about the "Eight Dwarfs" case? Lawyer Alexander Kashumov in front - 1

There are currently two pending cases. One is related to a request to the Supreme Judicial Council to provide all the information collected by that commission that was created and very quickly closed - in the cases of the "Eight Dwarfs" and the Five Euro. This commission has collected data on proceedings related to magistrates, including the use of special intelligence means. These are people who are most likely kept in dependence. Currently, the Supreme Judicial Council is putting on a show of sorts, claiming that it does not possess this information, but that it is in the General Prosecutor's Office and the Sofia Court of Appeal, from where it should have been requested. He announced this to Lili Marinkova in the studio of "FACTI" and the show “Conversation“ lawyer Alexander Kashumov.

“The other case is related to the issue of wiretapping of magistrates. The National Security Agency claims that such statistics are not kept. But how do we identify these magistrates then? How is it possible that there is no clarity? As early as 2022, there was a decision by the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg related to illegal surveillance and electronic traffic. The main problem is that there is contradictory information about secret surveillance and its legality. The legislation is unclear, and in the absence of clear rules, doubts arise about the use of illegally collected materials“, the guest added.

“This is a serious problem for the rule of law. If there are violations of the European Convention on Human Rights, the state is responsible. Including when it comes to wiretapping and monitoring of citizens and magistrates. That is why we insist that this information be clarified and that there be transparency - because without it there can be no trust in the institutions“, Alexander Kashumov also shared.
