A large-scale written exam for junior prosecutors is being held in Sofia today, with exactly 528 candidates competing for just 31 vacant positions in the country, the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) announced. Among the cities where the new magistrates will be appointed is Ruse, where one job position is planned.

In addition to Ruse, the new additions to the state prosecution will be distributed in different cities. The Sofia District Prosecutor's Office will take on five of them, and two will be sent to Montana, Varna, Burgas, Sliven and Yambol.

One position has been opened for the district prosecutor's offices in Vidin, Samokov, Botevgrad, Kostinbrod, Plovdiv, Pazardzhik, Stara Zagora, Haskovo, Kardzhali, Smolyan, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Dobrich, Razgrad and Silistra.

The exam itself is held in four classrooms of the Technical University in the capital. At exactly 09:00, in the presence of the competition committee and representatives of the participants themselves, the exam materials were downloaded – case study in criminal law and a specialized test in European Union Law in the field of human rights.

Candidates have 5 astronomical hours to work, not including the technical distribution of the papers.

In order to proceed to the next stage - the oral exam, lawyers must score no lower than a very good 4.50 on both components (case study and test).

The official results will be published on the SJC website and in a publicly accessible place in the institution's building within three days after the signing of the protocols by the examination committee.
