The personnel officers refuse, at least at this stage, to initiate disciplinary proceedings against Borislav Sarafov, bTV reported.

The Prosecutorial College of the Supreme Judicial Council asked the acting Minister of Justice Andrey Yankulov to make additions to his proposal to initiate disciplinary proceedings against the former Deputy Chief Prosecutor Borislav Sarafov.

Their motives are that the Minister should change Sarafov's position, because in Yankulov's request he was listed as performing the functions, but he is no longer so.

The College asks the Minister to indicate the position of the person for whom the proposal is made, as well as to provide additional data regarding one of the points in him.

The board specified that if the instructions are not followed, his proposal will not be considered, informs bTV.

The minister's proposal to the acting prosecutor general at that time, Borislav Sarafov, was made at the end of March.

It contains five circumstances. Yankulov emphasizes that the actions and inactions of the de facto acting prosecutor general, Borislav Sarafov, constitute serious disciplinary violations, for which he should be imposed the most severe disciplinary punishment - disciplinary dismissal from office.

On April 22, Borislav Sarafov withdrew his consent to take up the position of acting prosecutor general in a statement published on the prosecutor's office website. On the same day, the Prosecutorial Board of the Supreme Judicial Council appointed Vanya Stefanova as acting prosecutor general in Sarafov's place for a period of six months. The decision can be appealed within 14 days.
