The Chiprovtsi Carpet Festival promotes the craft and local craftsmen. This weekend they will demonstrate the subtleties of weaving and the unique craftsmanship preserved only there.

“I am in front of the tent every day. This is my whole life. I have watched it since I was a child, this is my life”, says Velika Stoeva.
There are people who want to buy Chiprovtsi carpets, although there are not many, Stoeva shares. The largest group of buyers are Bulgarians who live abroad.
The good thing is that there are also young people who want to weave carpets.
