Electricity Distribution Networks West doubles the number of its on-duty teams and suspends the planned repair activities on its power distribution network for the period from 08:00 on April 17 to 08:00 on April 21, 2026 in order to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the elections for the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria on April 19, 2026.
The necessary organization has been created in ERN West and additional measures have been taken to ensure the security of power supply during the elections. A joint inspection was carried out with Ministry of Interior officials of all facilities that supply power to polling stations.
The company maintains contact with the Central Election Commission, as well as with all regional election commissions in the territory it serves, to implement a timely and effective response if necessary. Additional duty teams will be deployed near all polling stations. The teams will be on duty at all regional election commissions on the night after the elections, and will remain on site until the completion of the transfer and counting of ballot papers.
The emergency teams of the electricity distribution company are ready for immediate response in case of emergency circumstances during the elections. If necessary, ERM Zapad has the ability to provide power supply to the buildings where voting is taking place through generators.
