Delyan Peevski has issued quotas of counter-protesters to all his mayors to be brought by buses for the protest of the civil association "Boets" in front of the headquarters of the DPS-New Beginning on "Vrabcha" Street in Sofia, which starts at 3 p.m. and will culminate at 6 p.m., the co-chairman of "Yes, Bulgaria" Ivaylo Mirchev announced at a briefing on the sidelines of the parliament. According to him, a civil confrontation between ethnic Turks from the country and the protesters in Sofia is clearly being sought.
“Peevski is looking for an escalation, this is a huge problem because it could cause serious upheavals in the country - something that Peevski wants. We will do everything possible to prevent this”, Ivaylo Mirchev was categorical.
According to him, this scenario was already played out in Rosenets on July 11, 2020, when people with dozens of buses were brought to the summer residence of Ahmed Dogan and at the moment when the protesters from “Yes, Bulgaria” reached the shore, the police were pulled out to prevent clashes. “We narrowly avoided any clashes. The same should happen today, there should be no clashes, everyone should be able to protest peacefully and express their opinion. Peevski wants an escalation. We will do everything possible to ensure that there is no escalation!”, said Ivaylo Mirchev.
To a journalist's question about the failed parliamentary session due to lack of a quorum, the co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria” replied: “There is no quorum because the ruling party cannot ensure it. And they cannot because they do not want to accept our agenda items, we as the opposition have our own agenda. By refusing to accept them, by being so arrogant, to ensure a quorum. But they can't because they travel around the world - some are in Japan, others are in the USA, others are in Africa - we are the most universal parliamentary institution”.
According to Ivaylo Mirchev, GERB leader Boyko Borisov in his statement today acknowledged his thesis that Bulgaria has several prime ministers and most importantly - that Peevski is the real prime minister, and Rosen Zhelyazkov is sandwiched between Borisov and Peevski and is a straw prime minister, with weak ministers.
The People's Representative from the PP-DB and former Minister of Justice Atanas Slavov described as an unprecedented situation in the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) yesterday, where in direct violation of the Judiciary Law (JDL), which was supported by a huge parliamentary majority in January, the acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov was appointed as such for a new 6-month period, in violation of the law, by an illegitimate SJC. “The Prosecutorial College of the Supreme Judicial Council has become a commando unit for carrying out political orders”, said Assoc. Prof. Slavov. He reminded that the same situation existed 2 years ago, when he, as Minister of Justice, challenged the appointment of Sarafov as Acting Prosecutor General, but in the person of the Supreme Administrative Court, we do not have a court to control the outrages of the Supreme Judicial Council.
According to Slavov, two steps must be taken from now on.
First, the Minister of Justice should convene an emergency session of the SJC plenum to discuss the unprecedented situation. Second, the amendments to the JSA that the PP-DB submitted to parliament two weeks ago should be adopted. They provide for a depoliticized election of the SJC, with the possibility for academic circles from the best law universities and the Supreme Bar Council to nominate representatives to the SJC, and for this new SJC to elect new heads of the judicial system. “This situation cannot continue in this way, in violation of the law and the constitution”, Atanas Slavov was categorical.
