There is no risk to the increase in pensions from 1 July 2024. The amount for payment of Easter supplements cannot create a danger for the system of the National Insurance Institute. This is what the Acting Minister of Labor and Social Policy Ivaylo Ivanov told journalists after his inauguration, BTA reports. The ceremony took place at the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy. Ivanov took the post from his predecessor Ivanka Shalapatova.
"The increase in pensions from July 1 is included in the budget of the State Social Security. You know this budget was passed. Let's see what Parliament will pass for the payment of Easter supplements, what they will be and where the money will come from. It is planned that pensioners who are below the poverty line will receive BGN 75 each," Ivanov pointed out.
According to him, the amount that is being talked about for Easter supplements is about BGN 40-50 million and it cannot create a risk for the system, which serves BGN 24 billion.
