"Slavov wanted an investigation to be carried out regarding the data that were indicated in a letter of the now former Prime Minister Denkov about pressure exerted by of i.f. Ch. prosecutor Borislav Sarafov, the head of the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office Kirilova in the presence of the head of the KPCONPI, pressure on the previous secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Zhivko Kotsev, explained the former deputy minister of justice Emil Dechev in the studio of "Day ON AIR".
According to him, it is quite possible that pressure was exerted on the former Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but it will be difficult to prove this.
"I cannot rule it out, because the chief secretary himself claims that pressure was exerted on this meeting. What will turn out to be true, whether we will ever learn, is another matter entirely. It will certainly be difficult to prove because you have the word of one person who shows lability - the former chief secretary who is changing his position - and on the other side you will most likely have the word of four other senior civil servants. Most likely, it will be really difficult to find out the truth one day," Dechev told Bulgaria ON AIR.
He pointed out that there is nothing wrong with requesting records of text messages, outgoing calls and finding out who actually requested that meeting.
"Even if Kotsev requested the meeting, why is this meeting not only with the chief prosecutor. Why is the head of the KPCONPI involved in it, which actually started that investigation, after which the head of the "Customs" Agency was detained? and the names of father and son Dimitrovi, of this mythical Pascal, became known... Regardless of who asked, the fact is that after that there is an allegation of pressure exerted and that as a result of this pressure, only a few hours after this meeting, a resignation was submitted" , emphasized Dechev.
