The Chairman of The Metropolitan Municipal Council Tsvetomir Petrov, together with the deputy chairman Boyko Dimitrov and the chairman of the PP-DB-SS group Boris Bonev, submit a report proposing that the municipal councilor Blagovest Georgiev be released from all the positions he currently holds.
These are:
Member of the Committee on Transport and Road Safety;
Member of the Commission for Children, Youth and Sports;
Member of the Committee on Architecture.
Member of the Management Council of the Specialized Municipal Privatization Fund;
Member of the Regional Development Council of the Sofia Region.
By law, every municipal councilor must participate in at least one standing committee of the local parliament, therefore it is proposed that Blagovest Georgiev be included in the composition of the Committee on Relations with Civil Society, reported the Metropolitan Municipality.
“The entire group of “We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria and Save Sofia" immediately after the incident we demanded that he tender his resignation and that continues to be our demand. Because of this, Blagovest Georgiev will no longer be part of our group. I expect him to take responsibility for his actions and leave his seat in the council, for which the people of Sofia gave him a vote of confidence in the fall of 2023. We are elected to live up to the expectations of the citizens, not to destroy them.", commented the head of the city parliament.
The proposal will be voted on at the upcoming council meeting on April 25.
Exclude Blagovest Georgiev from all committees in the municipality
