The liberals went too far in their battles with the past, now the Balkan powers see a chance to rub the liberals' noses in and are about to go too far in turn. The Balkan powers cannot nullify the liberals, because they are an authentic group in Bulgarian society. There are no right or wrong in this battle, said Simeonov.
The third group is the more eastern-minded people, who are hardly represented. When the Balkans and the liberals quarrel, the more eastern-minded people rub their hands because their chance may come. When two fight, the third wins, there is a demand for something third, the political analyst pointed out.
If there are new elections in the fall, it could be that more radical forces are gaining strength or a new political reaction could form around the president, he added.
