"Bulgargaz" is responsible for the unprofitable contract with "Botash". This was stated to BNT by Radoslav Ribarski, MP from PP-DB.
This is a 13-year contract, from which it can be seen that Bulgaria is losing. It does not use the capacities that have been agreed upon. Extremely large capacities have been agreed upon, more than what is physically possible that we can unload in Turkish waters, said Ribarski.
"Negotiations have started and Minister Rumen Radev has started talks on renegotiation with the Turkish side. The basis is that this contract is extremely beneficial for the Turkish side. Of almost 1.8 billion cubic meters, of which we can actually deliver about 1.3 billion, 2023 shows that we are delivering a ship and a half. And 1.3 billion equals about 14 ships", said Radoslav Rybarski.
The deputy emphasized that "Bulgargaz" has operational independence.
"In the energy commission, we heard Denitsa Zlateva, I personally asked her when they intend to announce tenders, because liquefied gas is traded under long-term contracts. Then the answer was that they plan several auctions per quarter, six months, and in early 2023 they planned to announce a 10-year LNG supply auction. This is not happening. "Bulgargaz" and Denitsa Zlateva must explain", Ribarski added.
