To at the end of this year, Bulgarian pilots will begin training on the F-16. This was said by the official minister Atanas Zapryanov, quoted by BNR.
One more aircraft will be produced, which, together with the other two, will come to our country by the end of the first quarter of 2025, Zapryanov added:
"Two planes will be delivered to us by the end of this year. And those will remain for pilot training there. One more aircraft will be produced and the first three - these two and the new one - will arrive by the end of the first quarter. After that, the second quarter, there will be three more and two more before the end of the year. That is, the entire package of eight aircraft will arrive by the end of 2025.
Deputies from the commission approved the changes to the contract for the first F-16s. There is a change in the clauses for suppliers of defense products and services, diversion of funds and "contract lines". The changes will not increase the value of the deal, assured Minister Zapryanov.
In 2019, Bulgaria paid about BGN 2.2 billion.
