Delyan Peevski's move with the nomination of Elena Yoncheva as MEP from DPS must to be very carefully analyzed. This was stated by the leader of “Yes, Bulgaria” Hristo Ivanov, after the PP-DB union registered for participation in the upcoming European and early parliamentary elections.
“The positions of Elena Yoncheva regarding the war in Ukraine and the mobilization of the West to stop Russian aggression are interesting. Where does Elena Yoncheva stand and where is Delyan Peevski, who attracted her in this picturesque way?”, Ivanov asked rhetorically, referring to the stated positions of DPS as a “party with a Euro-Atlantic orientation”.
The political leader emphasized again that the PP-DB will work for specific institutional changes that were thwarted in the outgoing parliament. Ivanov stated that Bulgaria was sent to elections precisely so that the reforms started in the field of judicial power, regulators and services would not be completed.
He also specified that in the next National Assembly PP-DB will seek only such a majority, ready to complete these reforms.
“We have proposed a draft agreement that very clearly outlines the specific reforms we are willing to work towards. We remain firm on this position. Those who do not want reforms will put the red lines in front of them. We are politicians, we set our priorities clearly and we do not participate in some reality show to deal with whether we are misled or not,”, concluded Ivanov.
