Official Minister of Energy Vladimir Malinov is going on a working visit to Turkey because of the "Botash" case, dariknews.bg reported.
Today he will talk in Istanbul with his colleague Alparslan Bayraktar – Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of our southern neighbor.
The meeting was initiated by Minister Malinov in connection with a decision of the National Assembly of April 19, 2024. It instructs the Minister of Energy to take the necessary actions in order to renegotiate the agreement between “Bulgargaz” and the Turkish energy company “Botas“.
According to the conclusions of the report of the Parliament, currently "Bulgargaz" pays nearly $500,000 per day to "Botash" for capacity, but does not receive gas from Turkey. These fees should be paid over the next 13 years.
The agreement was signed during the office of Galab Donev.
