The weather in the mountains is cloudy with weak winds, BTA reported. In the afternoon, a rapid deterioration of the weather is expected, the Mountain Rescue Service (MSS) reported to the Bulgarian Red Cross. Mountain rescuers advise tourists to be ready to descend in time from the high parts already in the early afternoon. At the moment, the conditions for hiking in the mountains are good, but in the afternoon the weather and conditions for hiking are expected to deteriorate relatively quickly. Temperatures range from minus one degree on Mount Botev to eight degrees.
The PSS reports several incidents over the past 24 hours. The mountain rescuers from Sliven assisted a motorcyclist who was injured in the area above the Asenovets dam, in Stara Planina.
The PSS also responded to a report of an injured cyclist in the area of Lozenska Planina, as well as to a report from the evening about a mother and daughter who had lost their way in the area of Boyanski Waterfall. In Stara Planina, in the area of Mount Botev, another woman with a child got lost and was found and rescued in extremely bad terrain by mountain rescuers.
