Arch. Ivan Shishkov: The chaos with the roads continues - 1

"I can't be surprised I say yes. During the 10-11 months that the regular cabinet ruled, practically nothing happened. This is the 4 billion for which an ugly slander was made that our cabinet gave away 4 billion. As you can see, today /n.b.yesterday/ it was established that we did not give out any money".

Thus arch. Ivan Shishkov comments in the studio of "The Day ON AIR" the decision of the new acting Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, Violeta Koritarova, to allocate BGN 4 billion for roads in Bulgaria.

According to him, however, what was done by the then cabinet was extremely important.

"We had prepared competitions for road maintenance in Bulgaria, because it was extremely necessary. When I became regional minister, the road maintenance contracts had expired at that very moment. There were no contracts, including for winter cleaning. We did a lot of urgent contests and then saved the winter cleaning. It was logical and normal to prepare the tenders for the next regular cabinet, which would finalize them and solve the problems with road maintenance," the former regional minister emphasized to Bulgaria ON AIR.

He explained that there are 6-7 large companies in Bulgaria that have the equipment and the base for the maintenance, repairs and creation of roads.

Architect Shishkov added that the country has been in chaos with roads for years.

"The chaos continues, but it continues according to the signed contracts from 2018-2019. This was also not specifically commented on at the time. This happened clearly and precisely in the period of 2018-2019. The official offices or the regular offices during this period really did not terminate the contracts and did not terminate them only for a single purpose - because the damage to the state would have been great," the guest noted. .

Dissatisfaction against the reorganization of traffic on "Patriarch Euthymius" Blvd. is also growing. and "Vitosha" Blvd. in Sofia. The active lanes for traffic along "Vitosha" boulevard there are already two, and the rest are already intended for oblique parking.

"What is happening in Sofia is a bad decision in relation to compensating for all the bad decisions in the past. The protests of all people are absolutely justified. The center of Sofia at the moment, what is currently happening with it, from the lack of parking options for residents, from the lack of parking options for everyone who wants to enter the center, this was not resolved 10-15 years ago. ;, said Arch. Shishkov.

The interlocutor added that over the years there have been many options to build underground parking lots to solve these problems.
