Karakachanov: VMRO offers BGN 4,500 salary for doctors and BGN 3,000 for nurses - 1

VMRO President Krasimir Karakachanov warns that the health care problem is getting worse. Rapid and large-scale measures are needed to ensure normal health care for the people.

„I met with hundreds of people, residents of small settlements. Everywhere I am asked the question, what are we doing with health care? No matter if we are in Blagoevgrad, Pleven, Varna, Yambol. Mass people ask who will treat them and where is the state. They are right! For three decades of experiments in the health system, we finally got to the point where there is no one to examine you, prescribe you treatment and help you when you have a health problem that needs a quick response.“, the leader of VMRO gives examples.

„The health reform has brought us to the point where entire regions and municipalities de facto do not have adequate health care. No doctors, no nurses, no midwives, no lab technicians, no orderlies, no ambulance drivers. There is nothing!“

That is why VMRO is coming up with a specific package of measures to improve people's access to healthcare. People are a key factor. No medics – there is no healthcare!“, Karakachanov also commented.

This is why VMRO - Bulgarian National Movement proposes an increase in the basic salaries of doctors:

• Determination of a second category of work for the medical staff in state and municipal hospitals and DCC, as well as in emergency care.

• Creation of a legislative framework for pay in state and municipal hospitals and diagnostic-consultative centers (DCC).

Minimum labor monthly wages:

• Paramedics and ambulance drivers - BGN 1,500.

• Nurses, midwives, laboratory assistants, paramedics, paramedics – BGN 3,000.

• Doctors – BGN 4,500

• Docents - BGN 6,000

• Professors - BGN 8,000

• Introduction of a ceiling (maximum monthly remuneration) of up to BGN 10,000, removing the possibility of misuse of team selection and cases of BGN 80-90 thousand monthly remuneration per person.

• Private hospitals that do not apply the standard will not be able to receive funding from the NHIF.

• Mandatory work in a state or municipal health institution after graduating from a Medical University or payment of an amount to be exempt from this obligation (the actual cost of medical education is over BGN 200,000).

Separately, we offer a program for preferential rent of municipal and state housing for doctors who work in state and municipal medical facilities.

These are only a part of the VMRO's measures for affordable and quality healthcare!
