The extraordinary session of the National Assembly will certainly be used for pre-election purposes. This is what political scientist Svetlin Tachev told NOVA NEWS.

The Srebrenica case is quite complicated, because if there really was pressure on Bulgaria to change its position, that is a problem. On the other hand, we got out of it because we supported the resolution. This matter must be examined and ascertained what happened, whether there was an attempt to change Bulgaria's position, because we could have ended up in a very awkward and shameful situation, said Tachev.

The BSP's request to the National Assembly to ban the sending of Bulgarian troops to Ukraine is also part of the pre-election struggle, but this will not influence the voters. The pre-election campaign is extremely sluggish and is aimed at the hard cores of the parties, as if not looking at the fringes. This was also seen from the candidate lists themselves, which do not rely on something new, but rather on security and stability, the political analyst pointed out.

It is possible that voter turnout is quite low, indicating that both voters and political forces are worn out and can hardly present anything new. Therefore, the whole campaign goes through personal confrontations of political leaders, mutual accusations and compromises, especially between the two largest coalitions that until recently were together in government. I am not sure if this will not demotivate the Bulgarian voter even more. This is very dangerous for the electoral process because the spiral of elections devalues not only the electoral process but also democracy itself. Politicians should think about whether to move from confrontation to dialogue, let's see how it will proceed, commented Svetlin Tachev.

There is nothing new on the political horizon. There is apathy in the Bulgarian voter, he is tired, he added.

The main problem for the formation of a government is whether in some way GERB and "We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria" they will be able to figure out how to manage together, but not in the way of assembly. The question is whether they will find a formula. If that doesn't happen, we'll probably be headed for another snap election, which will be disastrous. The question remains as to where the DPS will be, because they will not be able to be bypassed either. The DPS want to support, for them it is important to have expert or program management that they can support, but not directly, Tachev also said.
