Voters in our country who do not have the right to participate in the Eurovote because of the seating rule, they will only vote on paper.

This is what Rositsa Mateva, the deputy chairman of the CEC, told BNT.

For this purpose, when the voter enters the section, it will be checked whether he has the right to vote in both types of elections.

"As there will be only one machine in the sections where both votes will be cast, the CEC has decided that those voters who do not have the right to vote for the EP will only have the right to vote by paper. When the voter goes to such a section, he must say how he wants to vote - by machine or by paper. He can't say he wants to vote for one choice by paper and the other by machine.

The ballot for the European Parliament will be the same as for the National Assembly, with the difference that there is one independent candidate and a total of 17 circles with preferences. For the national parliament, the number of circles with preferences will be different depending on the electoral district.

"Voters who choose to vote with a paper ballot must first mark their vote in the box with the party or coalition number, and then - preference, if they want to vote for a specific candidate," Rositsa specified. Mateva.

In machine voting, citizens must first choose which vote they want to participate in - whether in both or just one. Then comes a second confirmation screen, after which there is no turning back, she warned.

Mateva called on all members of sectional election commissions to attend the training organized by the CEC. The CEC is taking all necessary measures to ensure that there is no delay in announcing the results.

"The counting will be slower - it's just two types of elections - with paper ballots and with machines. Four ballot boxes will be counted in those sections where there is mixed voting.

Even if a voter puts a ballot in the wrong box, it will be counted.
