927 Bulgarians have declared an income of over BGN 1 million last year. The record holder has strictly reported to the tax authorities a personal income of over BGN 70 million. This is shown by the data of the NRA after the deadline for submitting tax returns. The money of the person in question came from dealings in shares and other financial assets.
Individuals and identical traders, but not companies, are included in the list. The money of the richest Bulgarian as an individual is mainly from the sale or exchange of shares and other financial assets.
The total number of people who submitted tax declarations, including individuals and sole traders, during the tax campaign, which ended on April 30, is over 742,000 people.
According to NRA data, 20,247 people in Bulgaria earn more than BGN 100,000, and 1,228 people earn more than half a million BGN. 514 Bulgarians had an income in the range between 750,000 and 1,000,000 BGN, and 4,710 people earned between 250,000 and 500,000 BGN for the year.
More than 3,600 Bulgarians own real estate abroad.
