Bulgarian citizens believe that by not voting they are punishing the political elite. They didn't punish anyone, except themselves. That's what Vanya Grigorova from "Solidary Bulgaria" said in the Nova TV studio
According to Prof. Vili Lilkov from "Blue Bulgaria" low voter turnout "is a result of what people have seen in recent years in parliament" and added that "such a low level of political conversation, such an absence of politics, of ideas, of conversation about values has never existed, and this reflects on the voters.
"Personally, I am categorically against the formation of an expert government. An expert government simply means a government that will make the same decisions, but no one will be responsible for them," Grigorova said.
Prof. Lilkov agreed with her: "Whatever we call it two governments, of shared responsibility, expert, technical, whatever it is, in the end it is a political government. Because a government, like the parliament, makes policy. It does not deal with expertise. This is a substitution and an escape from responsibility".
