On Monday morning, Evelin Banev, known by his nickname Brendo, appeared in front of the Sofia prison and voluntarily surrendered to serve his sentence. Banev is wanted for convictions issued in several countries. He was sentenced to 6 years in our country for laundering drug money. However, how did he enter Bulgaria and is there a threat to his life, as he claims? Journalist Kiril Borisov commented on the topic in the Nova TV studio.
„I don't believe that Banev will be calmer in prison. He still has loved ones, family, children who will continue to be in danger. Only 10 years ago, his daughter was kidnapped. There are many mysteries around him," Borisov recalled.
In his words, “many facts point to the fact that Brendo was an informer for the services in our country and that is why he was “invisible”. “They say he is a man with serious contacts. The state cannot lose control over him”, added the criminal journalist.
He also commented on the photos showing heavily armed security guards around the house of GERB leader Boyko Borisov in Bankya. “These are employees of the main directorate in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which united the gendarmerie and the berets. They have the authority, when there is a serious threat to the life of a statesman, to be involved in his security. This is the so-called SOBT”, explained the journalist. According to him, the reason for the threat is clearly political, since Atanas Atanasov spoke about it during the PP-DB consultations with the president on Monday.
