Hristijan Mickoski is the new Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia. His government was supported by 77 MPs, 22 voted "against", there were no "abstentions". Already in his first speech in the parliament, anti-Bulgarian rhetoric was demonstrated. In his address, the new prime minister announced that "the Bulgarian diktat will not pass while he is prime minister".
"Expected reaction. Mickoski, VMRO-DPMNE and our coalition partners rule with an absolute majority in Macedonia. Mickovski has been saying for a long time that he will not accept a Bulgarian dictate. Nothing else can be expected to say in the near future", commented journalist Vladimir Perev from Skopje.
The Republic of Macedonia ratified the Prespa Agreement in June 2018. However, Mickoski described the addition of the name Severna as shameful.
"Greece reacted quite harshly. The situation does not go so far into the identity issues of the Macedonian people. The reaction of Mrs. Gordana Siljanovska, as well as of everyone at this age, is infantile," Perev analyzed to Bulgaria ON AIR.
According to him, Macedonia lives in a situation of waiting.
"The completion of the elections in Bulgaria is expected. Mitkoski hopes that his friend Borisov will take power and they will find an understanding," Perev believes.
According to him, the inclusion of Bulgarians in the Constitution will open new processes for history.
