The theologian added that attention should be paid to the line and direction of the messages that the new patriarch sends.

He defined as an "emotional reaction" the behavior of Archimandrite Nicanor, who expressed disagreement with the election of the new patriarch.
"Candidates for patriarch must be distinguished by the spiritual qualities of good shepherds, teachers of the truths of the faith, canonical consciousness and ecclesial behavior, and by these qualities they are recognized as worthy and meet the requirements to be first proposed, and after that from among these three the council chooses one", said in "The day begins" the theologian Assoc. He described Patriarch Daniel's speech yesterday as "extremely well measured".
