Our meeting with Honorary Chairman Dr. Ahmed Dogan yesterday was a frank conversation about the urgent need to take measures to return our party to its authenticity and normality. Khalilov explained that the meeting was important because the Movement has never functioned alone.
There is no discussion and the functioning of the DPS parliamentary group does not correspond to the way the Movement has worked all these years, Halilov pointed out and added that the reason for this is Delyan Peevski.
At the meeting with Ahmed Dogan, the deputy explained that it was agreed to activate the collective bodies of the party, so that key decisions in the DPS could henceforth be made on the basis of discussions, debates and analyses, and not singular.
When asked if a meeting between Dogan and Peevski was planned, Timur Khalilov replied that he did not believe that such a meeting would take place. Regarding Peevski's future in the Movement, Halilov specified that the honorary chairman will make a statement on this issue in the coming days.
Mr. Peevski's future in DPS PG has not been discussed, we have not discussed the personality of Mr. Peevski, but the disruption of the functioning of the PG and that we need to return to normality, Halilov also said about yesterday's asset meeting in “Rosenets”.
On the subject of the second mandate, Halilov commented that the party will seek to utilize it and, in this sense, as soon as it receives it, it will start negotiations. What he stated is in direct contradiction to what Delyan Peevski said a few days ago, who told the media in the parliament that the DPS will return the mandate “immediately” as soon as it takes it from the president.
We will look to utilize the second term. We need to start negotiations. If we restore normality in politics and decision-making, there is no party with which we cannot negotiate, Khalilov declared.
In conclusion, he assured that DPS will not split and no MPs will be excluded from the parliamentary group, because “Dr. Ahmed Dogan embodies the unity of the party”.
