DPS Honorary Chairman Ahmed Dogan intends to return to the unity of the party and the movement to have one leader. This will hardly be his faithful Jevdet Chakarov, because the electorate already associates him with the war with Peevski, which divided the party. Therefore, a unifying figure was sought. Such an option was the long-term mayor of Kardzhali, Hassan Aziz.
This was learned by News.bg from sources in both opposing camps, who are discussing the future of the party. The experiment with two leaders has failed and therefore Dogan will name one leader.

Azis was also suitable because he was loved and respected in the party. He has been working for the DPS since the 90s and has been in the party's collective and leadership bodies more than once. He is considered dialogical, diplomatic and calm. That is why he was counted on to calm the divided electorate, as well as to return to Dogan's DPS some of the dispatchers who are now on Peevski's side. At the local level, Hassan Aziz has proven that he can work with other parties as well. In addition, he had good contacts and was well received among expatriate organizations in Turkey. Last but not least, he is liked by the leadership of our southern neighbor, as evidenced by his numerous meetings with senior diplomats and politicians from Turkey.
