Hristo Panchugov: The mandate has expired, I don't think we will have a government from now on - 1

The mandate has expired, I don't think we will have a government from now on. The conversation is about policies. This is what he said in "Day Live" on NovaNews, the political scientist Hristo Panchugov, after earlier today "We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria" set as a condition the finding of an anti-corruption majority of 160 people's representatives in order to make an attempt to form a cabinet, reports novini.bg.

It started to become a habit of Bulgarian politicians to be surprised by the situation. Things are wrong here on at least a few levels. The first is that with this proposal the caretaker government, for which until recently from "We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria" they claimed that it belonged to Borisov and DPS, he would continue to rule. The second – this parliament will work until the next National Assembly anyway and they can seek a majority for these reforms anyway. I cannot understand exactly what the purpose is, said Panchugov.

The conversation cannot be conducted on two levels. This policy conversation cannot be taken seriously if it does not go hand in hand with the governance conversation. Talking about a declaration suddenly thrown in parliament and left to chance whether it comes to fruition is not a political conversation, the political analyst pointed out.

But there is something good in this idea – a conversation with Bulgarian politicians about the policies that are being made. There are two months in which a majority can be found for these policies – to get out of empty words and into real action. If this happens, the result for this formation in the next elections would be quite different, the political scientist added.
