Whatman from tram line 23 in Sofia violates traffic rules for the fourth day in a row, reports BNT. He runs a red light and crashes at a busy intersection, hitting cars stopped at traffic lights at high speed and injuring people.
From tram depot "Iskar" stated that Whatman has been suspended and if found guilty will be fired.
Today before noon at the intersection of the boulevards "Copenhagen" and "Amsterdam" in the capital is the last disaster of whatman. Tram 23 is seen running a red light at high speed and hitting two cars. The driver of one has head injuries and is in the hospital, and the other only escaped with a scare.
"The traffic light is red and I stop. I started at the green light, but then suddenly the tram appeared at a furious speed and took us away - both me and this car", said Ivan Ivanov, one of the victims.
Workers at a nearby garage said the Whatman was breaking the rules and had been driving like that since Saturday. Cameras caught yesterday's accident on the same tram, in the same place, which was without victims.
"Systemically, this tram runs red at high speed, exactly this tram number, with this driver. Yesterday he had an accident when he ran a red light, today he ran a red light again," said Vladimir Lazarov, owner of a car repair shop in Druzhba district.
The car repair shop repeatedly called 112 to report the incident.
"I am the person who reported on Saturday about whatman's abnormal behavior and several times. They replied that the signal was received and submitted to the competent authorities, who will check what the situation is," said Damyan Damyanov, a mechanic.
Out of 112 confirmed receiving four calls about whatman. They were handed over to the Metropolitan Municipality, but it was not their responsibility to warn the "Iskar" tram depot. The depot stated that so far they have no reports of his violations.
"So, he (whatman-b.r.) was worried. He was slightly distracted by the heat and cannot explain with certainty and accuracy what happened," commented Nikolay Koritarov, head of the Iskar tram depot.
According to BNT information, whatman is a young man with higher education from Vratsa. He has been working at the depot for the second year now and so far there have been no violations. His colleagues do not know that he has any personal problems, he was not a conflicted person.
