There were no victims or injured people from the fire near the village of Voden. The situation around the village is serious, this is an outbreak since yesterday, we have not been able to locate it. Today, due to the direction of the wind, the fire turned and entered the village. Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov said this to journalists after getting to know the situation on the spot, BNT reports.
According to him, there are affected houses, inhabited and uninhabited.
"We have evacuated the people from the village. We are expecting two helicopters, fire engines and bulldozers from Turkey.
According to him, equipment from the nearby mines in the area is also expected to be involved.
Chief Commissioner Alexander Zhartov, Director of the DG "Fire Safety and Protection of the Population", explained that people were not evacuated earlier because the fire changed its direction very quickly and they did not have the physical time to react.
"Pure timing could not be foreseen, as well as using the BG-ALERT system to notify the inhabitants of the village, explained Chief Commissioner Zhartov in a comment to criticism that people were not informed in time about the element of fire.
Minister Stoyanov added that efforts are now aimed at preventing the fire from reaching the two nearby settlements.
