The condition of the great Bulgarian journalist Ivan remains unchanged Garelov, BGNES reported, referring to the “Pirogov“ hospital.

81-year-old Ivan Garelov was urgently admitted to the intensive care unit of “Pirogov“ with a severe brain injury on Thursday.

The trauma occurred after an accident in the resort of "Sveti Vlas", where the journalist was working on his new book "What Women Dream About".

Garelov was initially admitted to the Burgas District Hospital, but due to the deterioration of his condition, a decision was made to transfer him to Sofia.

Ivan Garelov was born on February 6, 1943 in the village of Smilec, Pazardzhik region. He graduated from Sofia State University with a degree in journalism.

In 1972, he started working at the Bulgarian National Television, initially as a reporter. After that, for 21 years he hosted the popular journalistic show “Panorama“.

In it he interviewed all the leading Bulgarian politicians and intellectuals during that period. It became known with the phrase: “The time and place of the meeting are known”.

At the head of “Panorama“ 21 years left. After 2000, he worked at Nova TV, bTV and TV7.

Garelov is also the author of a series of documentaries, the most famous of which is his film about Cambodia after the victory over the Khmer Rouge.

The Bulgarian TV crew is the first to enter the country devastated by Pol Pot's genocide.

In recent years, Ivan Garelov has been writing books. On Midsummer's Day this year, he presented his new book “Here Hemingway has never been”.

In April last year, after a short illness, the wife of the journalist Donka Stamboliyska died.
