The Head of State Rumen Radev will visit France on the occasion of the opening of the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games, which begin in Paris today, July 26, dariknews.bg reported.

The visit is at the invitation of the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, and the President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach. The Bulgarian head of state will be accompanied by his wife Desislava Radeva.

Today, President Radev will visit the Bulgarian embassy in Paris, which will mark the beginning of the summer Olympics and the participation of our native athletes in the games. An exhibition of paintings by Vladimir Nikolov will be presented in our diplomatic mission at the initiative of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee.

Later that day, the head of state and his wife will be welcomed at the Elysee Palace by French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron. After the official reception given by the French president, the heads of state and government delegations will participate in the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris at the Trocadero square.

As part of the visit to France, the Head of State Rumen Radev will visit the Olympic Village, located in Saint-Denis near Paris, where he will meet with Bulgarian athletes. A total of 46 Olympians in 16 sports will represent our country at the Paris Games. It is planned that the president will support our competitors also within sports competitions with Bulgarian participation.
