The division in the DPS of Peevski and Dogan does not subside, and there is more and more talk of new elections. What is happening in DPS and where are we going… Habibe Rasim, MP from DPS, but close to Ahmed Dogan, spoke to FAKTI.
- Mrs. Rasim, if you look at what is happening in the DPS from the side, everyone says that there is a conflict between Peevski and Dogan. Is that so…
- I can't say a conflict, but there is a crisis of values, which are already encoded in the foundations of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, laid down by our honorable leader Dr. Ahmed Dogan. Any disrespect is a warning sign of danger on the path we have been walking steadily, courageously and responsibly for 34 years in the name of Bulgaria and the Bulgarian citizens, and this can lead to endangering democracy in the country.
- Your colleagues say that the conflict is between Peevski and a group of people who really do not accept the approach, the way and the speed of work to see the new beginning. Are you referring to the people you are next to Ahmed Dogan? What new beginning does Peevski propose?
- The Republic of Bulgaria is a legal state that is governed according to the Constitution and the laws of the country. The Movement for Rights and Freedoms is a political party registered under the Law on Political Parties, as well as all other legal provisions applicable to the activity and existence of political parties in the Republic of Bulgaria. The movement for rights and freedoms since its inception has followed Euro-Atlantic values, which are based on our primordial human rights and freedoms.
The DPS Statute is the DPS Management Code
with clearly regulated rules and goals, rights and obligations, as well as with the organizational structure, which is the collective body - the organism of the DPS. Failure to respect or comply with it leads to abnormal functioning of this organism.
A new beginning with one-man authoritarian rule,
lack of dialogue and togetherness with the structures and people, tension, unmotivated and unforgiving exclusion of 17 members of the parliamentary group, there is no way to have supporters, and at this rate the parliamentary group may soon find itself below the minimum number of 10 people.
For myself, I mean that as a Bulgarian citizen, sharing the values and ideology of the honorary chairman Dr. Ahmed Dogan, I am proud to be part of the only nationally responsible political party DPS, which gave me a good school for development and building me as a person .
- The Honorary Chairman of DPS Ahmed Dogan demanded the resignation not only of Delyan Peevski, but also of a large part of his team. And that's because…
- Because all those who do not respect the Statute, the decisions of the collective bodies, do not share the values, philosophy and ideology of the DPS, there is no way to continue with or in the DPS.
- We saw that Ahmed Dogan is in good shape because he released a video of his meeting with the youth DPS. Are there Peevski youths and Dogan youths in the DPS?
- Yes, our honorary chairman is always in good condition, and note that it is no coincidence that the first meeting is with the Central Operational Council of the Youth. Because he has always clearly shown that he is proud of the youth!
DPS has the largest liberal youth organization in the Balkans and in the world,
in which there are educated, prepared and worthy young people, responding to the modern challenges of the new era, active in their struggle for justice and a dignified life in defense of the ideology, values, principles and integrity of the DPS. The youth in the DPS - as our leader Dr. Ahmed Dogan used to say, are “the vanguard of the DPS”. At the last youth conference in February, all young people unanimously chose the management of Mladezhko DPS to be under the shared leadership of co-presidents Tanzer Yuseinov and Ibrahim Zaidenov. In the current crisis situation, they stood side by side in defense of the values, ideals and aspirations of the Bulgarian youth. With their landmark actions and deeds, the two co-chairmen of the Youth DPS showed and proved that they are guided by national awareness and responsibility for the future of the Republic of Bulgaria.
I can boldly say that they are the modern wake-up calls of Bulgaria.
I cannot help but note with pride the successes of our former chairman of the Youth DPS and current MEP Ilhan Kyuchuk, who, in addition to being the vice-chairman of the DPS and co-chairman of the party “Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe” and is a member of the “Renew Europe“ group, but since 23.07.2024 he has been elected chairman of the Committee on Legal Affairs in the European Parliament. Ilhan Kyuchyuk is a benchmark for youth development in the DPS.
- Is a conflict brewing among DPS voters, which is already growing into something much more dangerous…
- Yes, there is an experience of planting, which started from certain regions and is transferred to a national plan.
Our voter is extremely wise and I believe that reason will prevail when you overcome fear, see the illusory new beginning and free yourself from the shackles of prejudice.
Because today, more than ever, we need a stable and secure state with fully functioning civil institutions. Existential crises are overcome with patience, dialogue, a clear direction for development and responsibility for our future. DPS political party is the guarantor of peace, stability and security of the country and no one can deny that it is the guarantor of ethnic peace thanks to its architect Dr. Ahmed Dogan.
- Are you thinking about an option for Delyan Peevski to form a party and how will this affect DPS?
- I don't think so, but still, if one is planned, then in the history of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, we all remember and know that such attempts in the long term have ended in failure. So every Bulgarian citizen has the legal right and freedom of choice to do so.
And DPS (without Delyan Peevski and group) despite the severe crisis period, but again with the foresight and vision of Dr. Ahmed Dogan, will sustainably strengthen democracy in the country and with its political maturity will set an even stronger impetus for the future horizons of the country by promoting peace, respect for the values and well-being of citizens.
