Another person was in the warehouses at Elin Pelin Station when the blasts started. This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Kalin Stoyanov, quoted by bTV.
„A young boy was also here at the accident. For 20 minutes, he says, he was inside during the fire and the thunder. He says he got into a van where he tried to hide. The bus also catches fire. After that, the boy managed to get under the fence and managed to escape, he added.
According to the minister's information, the boy then stopped a car that took him to the station.
„From there he calls his mother, who comes and picks him up”, explained Kalin Stoyanov. He defined the behavior of the young man and his parents as irresponsible, as they did not make contact with the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
„He has come home and is turning on the TV, and we are looking for who was in the warehouse and if they are alive. "I understand the boy, he was worried, but his parents should have contacted us," commented Stoyanov. It is clear that there was a sixth person in the warehouses when the blasts started, from cell phone data.
„We brought him here and he brought clarity. The boy was in the middle of the warehouse. It claims there was an explosion first, not a fire. The young boy was not an employee of the company. Still not clear what the after hours rule is there. There are many facts to be ascertained. There will be a long investigation," the minister added.
For now, the conclusion is that not five, but six people were in the warehouses when the explosions began - the boy who managed to escape, the security guard who also survived, Prof. Petar Shishkov, his 20-year-old daughter Kristin Shishkova, The 20-year-old son of the warehouse owner and a 60-year-old man.
There were two victims after the explosions near Elin Pelin Station. On Thursday evening, the 48-year-old associate professor Dr. Petar Shishkov, who taught at the University of Mining and Geology and was a world-renowned scientist and consultant, died. His 20-year-old daughter Kristin Shishkova died on Saturday. A third body was also found in the warehouse area. This brings the number of confirmed victims to three, the interior minister said. One person remains missing.
