The registration agency has refused to register the new management of the Fourth City Hospital following the decision of the Metropolitan Municipal Council to merge the hospital into the 2nd City Hospital. This is clear from the widespread position of the chairman of the Council, Tsvetomir Petrov.
It says that the decision to merge the two hospitals was imposed by force by an "economic majority in the Metropolitan Municipal Council. Tsvetomir Petrov states that the fate of the Fourth City Hospital, which cared for over 3,000 patients a year, is again in question.
The Metropolitan Municipal Council decided on the merger of the Fourth City Hospital into the Second City Hospital at the end of July on the proposal of the municipal councilors Anton Koichev from GERB and Vanya Grigorova from the BSP group, who is also the chairperson of the health care committee at the SOS. The two were then accused by PP-DB/”Save Sofia” and from the deputy mayor for health care, Ivan Vassilev, that they protect economic interests that aim to sell the building of the Fourth City Hospital, which is located next to the Russian monument.
