During the holidays, the proposed caretaker prime minister, Goritsa Grancharova-Kozhareva, held a number of meetings before proposed the composition of the next caretaker government. President Rumen Radev gave her until August 19 to present the structure and composition of the cabinet so that the elections could be held on October 20.
„It seems to me that Kozhareva will act according to protocol. He will hold meetings with all the current ministers. My prediction is for a change of the ministers of the interior and of the foreign affairs. There should be no other personnel changes. Ministers of service do not aim to rule for long. Any change would be more harmful than having a positive effect on the system, commented on the air of "Your Day". on "New TV" the political scientist Irena Todorova.
According to the sociologist from “Gallup” Janitsa Petkova, the caretaker government should organize free and fair elections, as well as quell the tension created as a result of the political crisis.
„When it becomes key who exactly will be a minister for an official power, which is anyway temporary, it shows a problem with the very functioning of the power in question”, she added.
The experts also commented on the upcoming demonstration by the Ministry of Internal Affairs officials in support of the Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov. “And other times we have seen uniformed people stand behind the current caretaker minister. Protests could be expected, but the position of an acting minister to be defended for such a long time creates a feeling of some other nuance”, Petkova also said.
„Whether the elections are fair or not is a matter of public perception. "Until the political leaders stop claiming that the vote was bought and don't stop targeting themselves with compromising material, society will not live with the feeling that its choice has not been changed," Todorova added.
