Last working week of the 50th Parliament. On August 16, the deputies go on summer vacation. The people's representatives should return back in early September. The parliamentary holiday will be 18 days long. Their summer vacation is from August 17 to 31. Thus, by the end of the month, a total of 3 days will work.
The 50th National Assembly began work on June 19. So far, the people's representatives have had 38 working days and held 22 meetings, reports Nova TV.
Parliament will most likely have to meet in an emergency during the vacation, because of the swearing in of the new cabinet. Once that happens, the first meeting is due to take place on September 4th, but the 6th is an official holiday. It is expected that the people's representatives will have no more than 8 meetings, since on September 20 they have to go on another vacation. This time it will be pre-election.
The report shows that to date some of the 25 standing committees have not met at all. Others held one meeting each, at which they only adopted regulations for their work. The Committee on Budget and Finance held the most meetings. Deputies have met in it 6 times. With 0 meetings so far is the Commission for direct participation of citizens.
More than 100 changes have been made to laws since the beginning of the work of the parliament. What the deputies are expected to mark as a matter of urgency is to finally ban the use of vapes and e-cigarettes for minors, as well as to discuss a change for the choice of a Bulgarian European Commissioner. If the proposal to elect him from the National Assembly is accepted, the candidates will also have to be heard in the parliament.
