There is a coincidence that led to this tragic incident. This was stated by Ivan Savov, chairman of the Bulgarian Weapons Association, on Nova TV in connection with the incident in which a child fatally shot his policeman father at his workplace.
„I own more than one firearm myself. I have children, I have kept one of the guns on the bedside table. When my older kids feel like shooting, we go to the shooting range. "My little son is 5 years old," he shared.
In his words, the situation concerns an accident at the workplace. “The mistake is that there is a reload and the weapon was loaded with a cartridge in the barrel. The magazine with the cartridges must not be left in the weapon.”
„The weapon is from a well-known Austrian brand, used by most professionals. They don't have a fuse like the ones for citizens. For me, the gun was loaded. I don't know why, however”, Savov also said.
For the dead policeman Nikolay Filipov, he explained: “I got to know him through courses. He is a good professional, respected by his colleagues in the guild.”
„The Director of Police has the official responsibility to organize and monitor compliance with all procedures. There are rules that exclude the presence of outsiders, as vending machines are also stored there. However, let's not blame anyone, because what happened is terrible, he urged.
