At the moment, things in the DPS are so tangled that they will not unravel even during the elections themselves.
Güner Tahir expressed this opinion to BNR – chairman of the National Movement for Rights and Freedoms and former deputy chairman of the DPS.
"If we look at the current figure – the votes received from the last parliamentary elections, which were 366 thousand votes, I think the ratio will be 60 to 40 in favor of Dogan, unless Peevski decides to untie the bag again and pay off – then it could be 50:50", he predicts.
According to him, the Central Operations Bureau held yesterday in "Rosenets" was illegitimate:
"I don't know what the people who made this meeting expected, because it was clear in advance that a quorum could not be gathered.
According to him, this is the only party in whose statutes there is a requirement for a qualified majority in order to have a meeting of the relevant body:
"If at the moment the National Operational Bureau is 24 people, then the Central Council is 240. Yesterday the ratio was 13 to 11, i.e. 13 from Dogan's side and the other 11 from Peevski's group. Information has come out that they are 14 to 10. The figure depends on whether the information is true that Pleven MP Mario Rangelov has returned to Delyan Peevski again. That is the question".
In order for the Bureau to be legitimate, the ratio must be 16 + 1, explained Guner Tahir. According to him, at the moment neither Peevski nor Dogan can gather a majority to hold a meeting.
"Ahmed Dogan has no way to rearrange his house, because under him the management has been the same for 35 years,", commented the former deputy chairman of the Movement.
"Dogan literally gave Peevski the DPS party. And now Dogan is pretending to be a pinched miss – you see, let's save the party from Delyan Peevski".
According to him, the two did not split up because of principles and ways of conducting politics, but "some BGN 100 million separate them":
"Peevski confidently says "my party", "my list", i.e. he unequivocally accepts that he paid Ahmed Dogan some money and that the DPS party is a company that he acquired and he does not owe anyone any explanations for this.
Tahir is adamant that there is no chance for them to get together until the elections. He expects that in the upcoming elections the two groups will mutually prevent each other from running on behalf of the DPS, secondly – both camps should try to register on behalf of DPS, and the matter should reach the Supreme Court. However, in his words, the chairman of the Supreme Administrative Court is "absolutely dependent on Delyan Peevski". His term expires in November. In this sense, if the elections are held until November at the latest, I think that Peevski will win in the legal battle, he predicted. According to him, time works in Dogan's favor.
Tahir calculated that half of the structures in the country are behind Peevski, and the other half behind Dogan. Dogan's big problem is the regions of Targovishte and Haskovo, he expressed his opinion and suggested that the honorary chairman will need strong figures for these places. Among the emigrants, however, Peevski is not so well known, but some of them want Dogan's replacement, he added.
"Much depends on whether the government in Ankara will take sides. For now, I don't take".
Erdogan could not deal with Dogan over the years, Guner Tahir also said. According to him, Ankara tried to fight Dogan through the parties of Kasim Dal and Lutfi Mestan, but failed:
"Ankara can now do this job, behaving neutrally, and leave it to Peevski. He could do their job too".
